It is our great pleasure to announce the second AIM Supply Chain Event on Wednesday 7 December 2011.

In this second edition of our annual Supply Chain Event, we share expert views on the challenging combination of
Operational Excellence, Competitiveness and Sustainability in the supply chain:

  • Henk Zijm (Professor of Production and Supply Chain Management and Scientific Director Dinalog) presents a strategy towards excellence in logistic performance in a context of major issues such as climate change, environmental problems, an ageing population and humanitarian tragedies through natural incidents or political violence. Prof. Zijm will discuss new technologies and smart policies to increase competitiveness and added value for your customers.

  • Ton de Kok (Professor of Operations Planning and Control Director European Supply Chain Forum TU Eindhoven) addresses concepts of vertical and horizontal collaboration in relation to sustainability. Topics will include economies-of-scale, Customer Managed Inventory, and the benefits of sharing information, based on the findings of a remarkable case study.

  • Bert Koelewijn (Director Logistics and Technical Support, Artsen zonder Grenzen) will provide insight into how his organization’s Supply Chain is set up in order to effectively deal with calamities and offer direct, valuable emergency aid on the required scale.

This will be the occasion to meet and exchange views with high-level supply chain experts from our core industries and from science.
